Paperfriend is an emo-adjacent band from Maidstone, UK.

Paperfriend formed in 2015 with founding members Dean Ince (vocals, guitar) and Matt Ladbrooke (bass, backing vocals) and quickly established themselves in their local music scene. Andy Beck (drums, backing vocals) joined the band in early 2018 — after deputising on drums at a previous show in very wintery conditions it became apparent that he was the right drummer to push the band forward.

The band released a full length album ‘Foreign Lives’ (2018) and three EPs ‘Mental Health’ (2019), ‘I’m Over This’ (2020) and ‘Rebuild / Recover’ (2021). They also performed on the same stage with the likes of Vukovi and Superlove, and were named as one of Alternative Press’ upcoming new emo bands in 2020.

Paperfriend returned from a three year hiatus in 2025 with new music to coincide with their tenth anniversary.
